YWCA Grace Garden project to begin this summer

TF Powers Construction has been named the general contractor for the YWCA Grace Garden project in West Fargo, ND. The project will provide permanent affordable housing for 30 families at risk of homelessness, many of whom are transitioning from domestic violence.

A groundbreaking event was held June 5. The project came to fruition through a partnership with several entities, including West Fargo’s Lutheran Church of the Cross and Gate City Bank. The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency awarded financing for the project from several funds: the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit, the National Housing Trust Fund, and the state’s Housing Incentive Fund. The North Dakota Department of Commerce helped acquire the land for the project with Community Development Block Grant Discretionary Funds through the Governor’s office.

Shultz + Associates Architects is designing the project, which is slated to begin this summer and be completed in 2019. The total project cost is $7.1 million. TF Powers’ Jeremy Hoesel is the Project Manager for YWCA Grace Garden and will oversee construction of the project.
